Believe It Or Not! first appeared as a Sunday newspaper feature on December 19, 1918. This BLB reproduces 155 pages of material from the 1931 Simon and Schuster hard cover book titled The New Believe It Or Not!

Ripley devoted his life to reporting about oddities. He hosted his own radio show which began on NBC on April 14, 1930. For 20 years, the show bounced from network to network and it changed formats many times. Listeners never seemed to tire of hearing about oddities.

Ripley passed away on May 27, 1949, leaving a multimillion dollar business that continues to this day.
