COLLECTORS NOTES:
The Flintstones began on TV on September 30, 1960. The last telecast was on September 2, 1966. The ABC program ran mostly on Friday evenings from 8:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Alan Reed was the voice of Fred Flintstone. Jean Vander Pyl was the voice of Wilma. The story lines were parodies of suburban life in the 60s. In many ways the program resembled Jackie Gleason's popular Honeymooners program. To this date, it was the longest-running animated show in prime-time. Several spinoffs of the show were popular well into the 1970s
