COLLECTORS NOTES:
Tarzan's first telecast was on September 8, 1966, the last was on September 10, 1969.
In its early years, the program was on NBC on Thursday and later Friday nights from 7:30 - 8:00 p.m. Ron Ely played Tarzan. He was the 14th actor to play the role. Ely did many of his own stunts for this series. Some of the episodes were strung together and shown as a feature-length movie.
The story lines took place in the jungles of Africa after Tarzan had been educated through formal schooling in England. Episodes usually involved the catching of poachers and protecting the jungle from other interlopers.
